The softgel (soft gelatin) capsule is a 2 piece, hermetically sealed shell wall filled with oils or non-aqueous liquids, plus solids in a paste or solution form. The shell provides a unique strength and durability while protecting the inner material from the atmospheric oxidation which could compromise the potency and shelf life of the medicinal and non-medicinal ingredients in the formulation.
